As an organization established in accordance with Act on Support for
female-owned Businesses, Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association(KWEA)
Seoul branch supports women’s business start-up and corporate
management activities.

It is the nation’s leading economic organization for women with 16 branch
offices and approximately 2,500 member companies nationwide.

    Accelerate startup of women and advance women entrepreneurs’ management abilities.
    Provide information on women-owned business and support market expansion of women entrepreneurs.
    Develop overseas market and build a cooperative relationship with foreign women economic organization.
    Propose policies to the Governments for women entrepreneurs. Statistical survey and collection for the growth
    of women-owned business.
  • Emblem
    The emblem is designed in a modern style with a motive from the Sino-korean letter ‘經 (‘gyeong’ in korean)’.
    It symbolizes women entrepreneurs’ commitment to keep moving forward to brighten up surroundings by
    rising the torch and transform barren land into fertile ground. It also implies the founding philosophy of
    the organization, which is targeted to make a contribution to the development of national economy based on
    solidarity and take the initiative in protecting members’ interests with all entrepreneurs’ will to take a big leap
    toward the 21st century.

What we do

    Executive education &
    management program
    for woman CEOs‘
    To encourage women entrepreneurs to learn useful management information and build strong business network.
    the two days program is provided once a year. It offers a variety of programs to strengthen the woman leaders’ core
    competences such as highly recommended lectures, policy forum session, practical tips on business challenges.
  2. 02
    Woman enterprise
    certification
    KWEA issues ‘Woman Business Enterprise Certification’ to encourage public agencies to buy products manufactured
    by women enterprise and increase participation in public procurement markets.
    If a firm established under Commercial Act, whose the largest shareholder is a woman, or sole proprietorship submits
    an application through online, the KWEA examines the submitted documents and then conducts the spot inspection.
    Once deemed qualified, ‘Women Business Enterprise Certification’ is issued, which is vaild for 3 years. If women enterprise
    with the certification bids for the supply of goods to a public agency, bonus points are to be given.

    Startup funds for
    women householders
    KWEA helps women householders start a business with financial aids. It stabilizes their household income and motivates them
    to earn their own living and participate in economic activities through self-owned businesses.

    A synergic platform dedicated to advertising women entrepreneurs' products and networking. A platform for developing markets
    and maximizing the sales through the supply-demand matching system

    Economic Forum for
    Women CEOs
    Forums for improving women CEOs' competitiveness and entrepreneurship. Invited talks from business experts and
    policymakers to understand and prepare for the changing political, economic, and business trends.
